Creeping in to 8 months!

how far along: 31 Weeks, 4 Days

due date: August 7th

size of the baby: 2.5-3.8 pounds and 16+ inches long. She will pack on more fat (half a pound a week!) until delivery.

baby is: hiccuping at least twice a day. I feel so bad for her, I hate the hiccups.

movement: it comes in waves. i can feel her when I'm lying in bed, or lounging on the couch or in my work chair. it's more fluid movements too, like when she's jabbing her feet into my ribs.

gender: a girl of course!

total weight gain: Still good! Everyone I see tells me I look great, which is really nice to hear. no massive weight gains *knocks on wood*. I still have 8ish weeks left, so hopefully I keep staying healthy!

stretch marks: just on the tops of my thighs around my hips. i'm not super concerned about it. i rub on the belly cream.

symptoms: reflux is no joke. it hits every single day and i'm left coughing and suffering if i don't immediately pop a tums.

wedding rings on or off: still on. though I've started getting dry skin underneath my rings now? whyyyy.

belly button in or out: still in. i had a really deep innie before, i'm not sure if it will pop out at all.

maternity clothes: yes of course. though i'm still getting away with wearing some shirts that aren't maternity, but today i'm wearing a maxi skirt (not maternity) and a t-shirt (not maternity) and i've felt it ride up my belly a couple times. not good..

sleep: or lack thereof. can't get comfortable, have to pee, get reflux. all this before 3am. my husband said i kept him up all night because i kept tossing and turning. i just cannot find a position that helps me.

missing: not being pregnant. i love having her with me all the time, but i am so ready to meet her. i just want my delivery to come and go and i can have her with me at home.

cravings/aversions: chocolate milk again. it seems to tame my reflux. plus i drink my morning smoothies and they are awesome.

cries: none that i can think of!

nursery: oh gosh. i spent most of Saturday morning scraping off the wall decals that have been there since we moved in 2+ years ago. got those off, Jesse got the old mattress out, now he just needs to tape and paint. my shower is next Saturday and I can't wait to get the crib set up. I might start ordering some wall hangings too!

Jesse is: starting to get sick of this pregnancy too I think. I keep him up at night, I can't move around as easily as I could, and I just can't do all the things I used to.

best moments: honestly? watching my registry. i know it's cheating to see things being bought, but i can't help peeking!

not so best moments: just being tired. i used to love at the end of the day when i could lay down and fall asleep. i would fall asleep in 10 minutes, and sleep straight through for 9 hours. that's over!

looking forward to: next appointment is an ultrasound so I am really looking forward to seeing her and finding out how big she is! plus my shower. getting everything we need set up and figured out. it's coming up fast!

next appointment: June 16.

Busy Busy Busy Week #30

Courtesy of Ovia Pregnancy App

how far along: 30 Weeks, 4 Days. We are in the single digit weeks and with only 66 days until her due date!

size of the baby: 16 inches and 2.8-3.5 pounds currently.

baby is: learning mine and Jesse's voice (he talks to my belly sometimes, it's the sweetest)

movement: a little less than normal I'd say. The doctor told me not to worry, as long as I still can feel her, even if the kicks aren't as strong, she is fine. Basically, she's out growing the womb!

gender: girl. my shower is coming up and I can't wait to see it! My mom said she has lots of stuff planned and I'm just excited to get things for her to enjoy.

total weight gain: not bad! my home scale still says around the 163-164 mark, which is about 15 pounds up from pre-pregnancy weight. I have a feeling I'll be gaining a lot soon as she is supposed to gain half a pound of fat every week for the next 9 weeks!

symptoms: always the same. heartburn, reflux, sciatic nerve pain. all killer.

stretch marks: hips and thighs.

maternity clothes: i ordered more. i have no cropped pants or capris that are maternity and my wardrobe is feeling it. i love to wear dresses and skirts because it is so dang hot here, but I still want the flexibility of some type of pants. plus i ordered a cute dress that hopefully i can wear to my shower.

sleep: difficult. i thought maybe ditching my pregnancy pillow and opting for just a pillow between my knees would help. spoiler alert. it did not.

missing: not getting reflux! seriously every afternoon, it spikes.

cravings/aversions: mm mexican. cold drinks and ice cream from a shop.

cries: not this week thankfully.

Jesse is: on a weight loss kick. he wants to lose some of the weight he packed on with the vacations we have been taking and my pregnancy (yes, he did gain weight right along with me, at least i have an excuse!) we are going to up our walks at night with Lucy so hopefully that will help and it helps to keep me active. plus i'm going to try to put smaller portions on his plate at dinner time. i like to eat, what can i say.

Progressive Field in Cleveland. At least we had sunny skies for the majority of the game before it started POURING in the 8th inning!

best moments: getting home Sunday night. we went to Cleveland for Memorial Day weekend and we drove back Sunday evening. Pulling up to our house and knowing that we literally don't have to go anywhere for the next two months feels amazing. i can't explain it. i just want to be home, relaxing and preparing for little girl's arrival.

not so best moment: honestly? Cleveland. We had some good moments, good food, and good times with my family. but I wanted to be home the whole time. also arguing with Jesse over names. He wants something super meaningful. I want something that means something but is also normal and sounds pretty.

looking forward to: my shower! it's on the 18th and I can't wait. Also our next appointment (not today's) will be an ultrasound to check growth and I am SO excited to see baby girl again. that's the 16th!

Third Trimester Happenings

Saturday's wedding

how far along: 29 Weeks, 3 Days

size of the baby: a pineapple or acorn squash. basically, she's getting big

baby is: moving a tiny bit less, which i attribute to the fact that she's getting bigger and outgrowing her space in the womb.

movement: oh yeah. she gets hiccups after my morning smoothie, she kicks me and wiggles while i'm laying down trying to sleep. she just moves a lot.

gender: a baby girl. i haven't bought her anything in a while, i may need to get to target to pick out some new cute outfits.

total weight gain: i went to the doctor last week and i was actually down 2 pounds from my previous appointment. the doctor was concerned but i'm not. i think their scales are wrong! i think i'm up 13 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight and about 17 pounds from first trimester weight (where i lost weight due to nausea and vomiting)

symptoms: the same as last week, heartburn and sciatic nerve pain.

stretch marks: definitely on my hips and thighs, i'm lathering the cream on those in the morning though now so hopefully they won't get any worse.

maternity clothes: yes and no. it's finally gotten hot and sunny this week where i live and so i can wear some non maternity dresses. i'm going away again this weekend and it's going to be warm. i'll have to bring my maternity pants and just suck it up i guess.

sleep: sleep is hard. my pregnancy pillow is no longer as comfortable as it was 2 months ago. i might switch to just a pillow between my knees and see how that goes.

missing: sleeping on my stomach. i'm a stomach sleeper, what can i say, and i just can't get comfortable at night.

cravings/aversions: since it's been hot out, i always want some ice water. other than that, i'm fine. just cool fruits and vegetables.

cries: i don't think so? i have no memory anymore.

Jesse is: busy. we've been taking a lot of time off on the weekends to do other things (beach trip, wedding, Cleveland trip) so we haven't been focused on working to get her nursery ready. i think once June hits, and we realize we have exactly 2 months until her arrival, he will feel more inclined to work.

best moments: the weather definitely. it has finally stopped raining after weeks of non stop cloudiness and drizzle. i can drive with the windows down and finally feel good about my hair again.

not so best moment: Saturday's wedding. the wedding was a fun time, but we got home really late after being out all day and my body totally turned on me. i woke up at 6:30am after falling asleep after 1am and threw up. Sunday I just had to stay in pajamas all day.

looking forward to: Cleveland this weekend. it'll be a short trip, but i'm looking forward to trying out a new city and a ton of new restaurants, spending time with my family and seeing the O's play. then it's officially June, which is baby shower month and father's day, then July which is another wedding of close friends, then holy crap she's due!

#28!

Sometimes I wonder why I'm doing these - but it's been fun to document how I've been feeling.

how far along: 28 Weeks, 4 Days

size of the baby: a tropical coconut or an eggplant

baby is: hiccuping all the time! i feel bad that she has the hiccups but then i'm annoyed that she's hiccuping my uterus

movement: yep! she moves around all the time, never causing me any worry anymore.

gender: a girl. my shower is coming up soon and i'm pretty excited to get her room ready.

total weight gain: last I saw, about 13 pounds according to my home scale. i have a doctor's appointment this afternoon though.

symptoms: heartburn and reflux. sciatic nerve pain as well on my left side that really affects my sleeping and being able to ride in the car for long periods of time.

stretch marks: some on my hips and thighs that i really noticed the other day. i've been neglecting that area when i put my cream on and it has come back to bite me.

maternity clothes: yep! we went to the beach over the weekend and i was mainly in yoga pants the whole time so that was nice.

sleep: still not the greatest. i didn't sleep well at the beach and my sciatic nerve pain is just really getting to me.

missing: i said i would miss alcohol at the beach and i did just a little bit. everyone was drinking margaritas one night and i just had margarita mix over ice and it was kind of gross.

cravings/aversions: eh nothing. i certainly enjoy food all the time and eat basically what i want.

cries: Saturday was rough for some reason. i get these really intense feelings (hopefully hormones) and i just bawl.

Jesse is: dragging his feet on the nursery! i need him to get it cleaned out so we can paint!

best moments: moving on to week 28 and my third trimester! it's so good to know i've gotten this far and that her sustainability outside of my womb is growing with each day.

not so best moment: not being able to sleep and crying on Saturday. i don't like to cry, i just had a meltdown for some reason.

looking forward to: in my last one i said getting to the beach, and although it was a nice trip, i was happy to be home. now i'm looking forward to my shower and having her here!

Bumpdate #27

how far along: 27 Weeks, 3 Days

size of the baby: a bunch of bananas. Baby is 2.5 pounds now!

baby is: packing on fat which will help her to look gorgeous and chunky when she pops out.

movement: definitely at night all the time. I feel her constantly, a little foot or hand pushing at me. and at night she really moves around as I'm trying to fall asleep.

gender: baby is a girl.

total weight gain: i believe i'm up 20 pounds from my first trimester weight where i lost 4-5 pounds. so about 15 pounds from pre-pregnancy. i'm all belly though, i don't feel very fat in other places.

symptoms: just heartburn really. i'm eating better this week, keeping on my smoothie kick and making sure i'm only drinking 1 cup of half-calf a day. i realized i had switched to full caffeine for a little while because that's all the coffee we had, and it messed me up bad.

stretch marks: still none.

maternity clothes: yes. the weather is still a little chilly so i've been able to wear my maternity pants more often than dresses. so glad i purchased them.

sleep: ehh. my back hurts when i wake up and my sciatic nerve pain kicks in when i roll over. plus she moves so much while i'm sleeping it wakes me up sometimes. i just lay in bed and feel her squirm.

missing: nothing too bad this week. we leave for the beach on friday though, and the beach is such a great place to kick back with a drink, i'm sure i'll miss alcohol.

cravings/aversions: nothing really. here's the thing, other than alcohol, i didn't put myself on the "pregnancy diet". i eat soft cheeses, lunch meat, and medium rare steaks. mind you, i don't eat excessive amounts of them. maybe once a month do i indulge. but it works for me and there have been no problems or complications (knocks on wood). so really, i'm not craving a ham sandwich because i just had one on monday night. and i'm not missing much. except alcohol.

cries: mother's day fo sho. Jesse gave me a card and wrote the sweetest note inside and i just cried and cried.

Jesse is: really feeling this pregnancy i think. the other night we were lying in bed and she was kicking me as usual and he was able to feel her really strongly. that sort of woke him up and he's been very considerate since. we have a couple long car rides coming up and he wants to make sure i'm super comfortable.

best moments: finding out the results of my glucose test were good! i don't have gestational diabetes and i get to enjoy all the foods i've been enjoying. and just feeling her so much more. plus being wished a happy mother's day was so surreal.

not so best moment: mm maybe just my back hurting from the bed. i have a pregnancy pillow but i'm having a hard time getting comfortable most nights.

looking forward to: getting down to the beach. not looking forward to the car ride, but just being there will be nice.

Tough Week #26

how far along: 26 Weeks, 3 Days

size of the baby: a butternut squash, or as Ross would say, a "squatternutbash". Friends. Duh.
baby is: opening her eyes and responding to light. I feel her move much more after I eat or if I'm laying on my back or sides.
movement: sometimes I think she pushes with her foot or elbow or hand and I get this weird tightening feeling. maybe she's stretching?
gender: i'm not sure if this topic is even necessary anymore. we know it's a girl. i will say that we've acquired a lot of baby things recently and i've about finished my registry!
total weight gain: still teetering around the 13-15 pound mark. i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so we will see what they say about my weight gain.

symptoms: oof. this week was a toughie.  headaches, overall feeling icky. i think the weather and my dehydration has everything to do with the headaches. last night i felt the worst i've felt in a long time. i think i had too much sodium during the day and it took its toll last night. i felt swollen and bloated and just overall awful. plus now i'm dealing with insatiable hunger that causes me to throw up if i don't eat fast enough.

stretch marks: none on my belly. using the cream once a day.
maternity clothes: of course. i've got a freaking bowling ball hanging off me.

sleep: alright i guess. nothing like it used to be a couple weeks ago. my belly is getting bigger so it's harder to find a comfortable spot. plus i've got tailbone pain so that kicks in when i want to roll over or get out of bed to pee.

missing: alcohol. i won't lie. i want a margarita.
cravings/aversions: anything fresh. i'm drinking fruit smoothies every morning and they are so delicious. today's combo was pineapple and orange. yummm.

cries: almost cried last night because i felt awful. and i cry whenever i throw up because the tears just come out. did that twice this weekend.
Jesse is: actually being super sweet. he's concerned when i don't feel good and last night we were falling asleep and i asked him to get me some tums and he actually got out of bed and got them. he grumbled along the way, but he did it.
best moments: today i'm wearing yoga pants to work. and i don't even care.

not so best moment: just feeling big. i know i'll get so much bigger and that scares me.

looking forward to: tomorrow's glucose test. i want everything to come out good!

25 Weeks!

how far along: 25 weeks, 4 days

size of the baby: a head of cabbage or cauliflower, but around 1.5-2 pounds and over a foot long!

baby is: she is wriggling all around and had the hiccups yesterday!

movement: the other day I wasn't feeling her as strongly so I called the doctor and they said not to worry. Well, I worried. So to perk  her up, I drank a can of coke. She then kicked me like crazy and I felt like such a bad person for injecting her with tons of sugar just so I could feel better.

gender: still a girl ha.

total weight gain: this morning on the scale wasn't the greatest. I'm up 11 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight. Probably 15 overall from the weight I lost during the first trimester. Jesse and I haven't been eating very healthy the last week or so, but we are going to make more of an effort.

symptoms: heartburn and reflux. Also I've noticed I get the feeling I need to burp all the time but I can't push it out.

stretch marks: I think some on my thighs which is really not where I was expecting them.

maternity clothes: yep! probably going to bite the bullet and order another pair of jeans, because they're just so good.

sleep: eh. Jesse has been having some rough nights, the house has been really hot, and we just haven't been sleeping well. by the time I fall back asleep after being woken up by Jesse or to pee, I only get a couple more hours and my body does not feel good.

missing: the warmer weather! it cooled way down yesterday and will stay rainy and cool the rest of the week which is a tad depressing considering we had such a beautiful weekend.

cravings/aversions: apps and zerts.

cries: not really. just a little depressing the way we've been feeling lately (think tired, tummy hurting, overall icky)

Jesse is: working really hard. he got paid yesterday and it was significantly higher because of all the overtime he's putting in. i'm super proud of him for working for this family, i just miss him being home more!

best moments: just Jesse loving on my belly. he will kiss it and pray over it and it's so sweet.

not so best moment: eating bad. we went out to dinner the last two nights and ordered really crap food and both woke up feeling crappy. i want this to be a healthy pregnancy. i have my gestational diabetes test next week and want to pass with flying colors.

looking forward to: getting the nursery together. it's going to be a rainy weekend so i'm hoping we'll get stuff done in the house so that we can really start getting it together. plus, a trip to babies'r'us and target to complete our registry!
